Requirements

Admission Criteria

There is one intake for the MTD (Sustainable Product Design) programme each year in September.
 
Applicants should possess the following:

• At least a bachelor’s degree in technology, including degrees in Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences

• Proficiency in English (TOEFL score of at least 92 or IELTS result of at least 6.0 is required if the medium of undergraduate instruction is not English).

Note: TOEFL / IELTS scores are valid for two years from the test date and should not have expired at the point of application. Expired scores will not be considered for the application.

Applicants without a relevant degree can submit a portfolio highlighting their skills, abilities and experiences to augment their application.
 
All applications will be reviewed by the MTD admissions committee.
 

Graduation Requirements

Students must obtain a minimum of 96 credits and meet the minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.5 (out of 5.0) to be awarded SUTD’s Master of Science in Technology and Design (Sustainable Product Design) degree.
 
The minimum candidacy for the full-time MTD programme is one year. Extensions will only be granted under exceptional circumstances. Currently, the MTD programme is not offered on a part-time basis.
