SUTD Education Opportunity Grant

The SUTD Education Opportunity Grant is introduced as part of SUTD’s total Financial Aid Package to help deserving needy students pursue their studies at SUTD. This Grant will aid recipients in offsetting their tuition fees and reducing their financial burden, after taking into account all bursaries and grants from all donors and the Singapore government. The grant amount is fixed at S$4,000 per academic year, and will cover a maximum of four years (8 academic terms) of undergraduate studies for each qualifying student as long as the recipient continues to meet the eligibility criteria. The grant is bond-free.
 
The SUTD Education Opportunity Grant, together with the rest of Financial Aid Package, will help to take care of the subsidised tuition fees fully for needy students. 
 

Eligibility

  • Open to Singapore Citizens (SC) only

  • Must NOT be a current scholarship holder

  • Full-time undergraduates in first year of study at SUTD from Academic Year 2018 onwards

  • Demonstrated financial need with monthly household Per Capita Income of S$625 and below

  • Family does not own any private property and residing in a 3-room HDB flat or smaller

  • Have been granted the Tuition Fee Loan and/or CPF Education Scheme Loan

Tenure

Each qualifying student is guaranteed to receive the award for a maximum of four years (8 academic terms) of undergraduate studies, provided that the recipient continues to meet the eligibility criteria.  Recipients will be required to provide supporting income documents to the Office of Student Administration on an annual basis.

Application Period

Eligible students will be granted award for the first academic year automatically, upon the successful processing of his/her single online application for SUTD-administered Study/Bursary awards and MOE/CDC/CCC University Bursary Scheme, and upon approval of Tuition Fee Loan and/ or CPF Education Scheme Loan. Prospective students are encouraged to apply for the Tuition Fee Loan as soon as possible, upon receiving an admissions offer from SUTD.

2The quantum of Donor supported Study/ Bursary Award administered will vary between S$5,000 and $7,500 according to demonstrated need.  Students may apply for the Donor supported Study/Bursary Awards on a yearly basis.
3The maximum Tuition Fee Loan amount is capped at a maximum of 90% of the subsidised tuition fees payable by Singapore Citizens.  
 
On top of the Financial Aid Package to offset tuition fees, students who have been granted a Tuition Fee Loan and/ or CPF Education Scheme Loan can also apply for the Study Loan Scheme for living allowance to finance their daily expenses.
