CONTRIBUTING BACK TO SUTD, ONE SANDWICH AT A TIME
Siti Nurhayati Binti Rahim is a force to be reckoned with. Unlike many of her peers, she faces the challenge of managing her F&B outlet, gomgom, on top of her coursework in the SUTD-SMU Dual Degree Programme (DDP) that she is currently enrolled in. She is deeply grateful to be one of the selected students for the DDP scholarship and says her experiences would not have been possible if not for her donor.
"The programme has given me countless opportunities to gain new experiences and to develop myself," she said. In 2016, Nurhayati completed an internship in Belgium and was also selected to spend three weeks in Boston, USA for the Winter Independent Activity Period in Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The senior year student has no plans of stopping. "My current plans for the years ahead are to develop gomgom further," she quipped, adding that the store is her way of deliciously giving back to the SUTD community.
