Congratulations to Prof. Ngai-man Cheung for being shortlisted as one of the top 30 finalists in the SAIL Award for his project “KroniKare: Transform Chronic Wound Care using AI” – Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD)
Prof. Ngai-man’s research project on “KroniKare: Transform Chronic Wound Care using AI” was shortlisted as one of the top 30 SAIL Award Finalists. He was at the World AI Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai last week to receive the recognition.
There were nearly 700 projects that participated in the SAIL Award this year. Participants include AI teams from Tencent, Baidu, Amazon, IBM, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and more.

Attended by the most influential AI scientists and entrepreneurs around the world as well as government leaders such as Elon Musk (TESLA), Jack Ma (Alibaba), Raj Reddy (Winner of Turing Award), Tom Mitchell (CMU), the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2019 is hosted by National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Cyberspace Administration of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government.
As the highest honour of the WAIC conference, the WAIC SAIL Award committee have established the SAIL (Super AI Leader) awards to recognize the most outstanding and breakthrough projects in AI from all over the world.
