Courses and modules
These industry-relevant courses focus on equipping Singaporeans with emerging skills in areas such as Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Design Innovation, Digital Media, Advanced Manufacturing, Unmanned Aerial Systems, and others.
Data Analytics for Semiconductor Industry Applications: Yield and Reliability Analysis
Application of data analytics in semiconductor industry and analysis of large industrial data contribute to improved operational efficiency and business processes. This course equips participants with knowledge about applications of data analytics in the field of yield and reliability analysis in semiconductor devices/systems.
Digital Design and Manufacturing
Additive Manufacturing (AM) is a new and growing technology and enables the production of highly complex parts with respect to its load cases. This course gives an introduction to this technology and the digital tools that will enable you to think AM!
Introduction to Energy Storage Devices
Energy storage devices (including lithium-ion batteries) are one group of emerging technologies that have wide areas of industrial, commercial as well as consumer applications. This course seeks to provide participants with technical understanding of lithium-ion battery technology and its subcomponents. Both current and future energy storage devices will be discussed. In addition, with the increasing use of electrical vehicles, basic requirements of batteries for electrical vehicles will also be explored.
Introduction to Optics: Color Generation and Measurement
Digital cameras today are modeled after the human eye. They capture color information based only on three color filters, i.e. red, green and blue (R,G,B). With increasing advances in imagers and sensors, more detailed color information in the form of multispectral detectors are being developed to address specific needs in various industries. As color perception is one of the most quantifiable of human senses, this course aims to provide a foundational understanding of colors and how colors are generated, measured and quantified.
Robotics System Design & Development
This course introduces essential concepts in robotics with an integrated design project covering elements of development and deployment. The course equips participants with necessary skills and knowledge to design, develop, integrate and evaluate robots for domain specific applications. Key topics covered include mechanisms, perception, actuators, autonomy, and application specific robots. The team-based design project is centred on application development for an autonomous mobile robot. Application driven hardware and software development exercises are covered as part of the design project.
