Social Urban Lab

This research project studies the participatory approach in the making of public spaces, as well as the community design process in which multiple parties, including policy makers, designers and community, collaborate to prototype and create new urban conditions to facilitate better living for the community. The research addresses the underlying socio-cultural perspectives as results of urban history, morphology and shared values, and proposes meaningful place-making methods for a more socially sustainable development.
