Your first step to Python
Computational thinking is a necessary skill for 21st century work force. One way to sharpen this computational thinking is by learning how to program.
The course will provide an overview of computational thinking and programming using Python 3. Participants will learn through hands-on practice, how to solve problems using PCDIT framework, write idiomatic Python codes, and test their implementation.
This course will also focus on the applications of Python to real-world applications in Data Science.

Who Should Attend
This course is suitable for those who have technical or engineering background and participants should be familiar with some form of programming and a basic foundation of computer science.
It is ideal for those who wish to learn Python and its best practices in their work and be able to solve day-to-day problems through automation by writing a Python code.
This course ends with a topic on basics of data science using Python and, hence, a good introduction to data science for beginners.
Prerequisites
- Participants should preferably have passed mathematics at least ‘O’ Level or equivalent.
- Participants should be conversant with basic IT skills such as software installation, file management and web navigation.
- Participants are required to complete the Fundamentals in Python (Basic) before enrolling in this course.
- Participants are required to bring their laptops.
