Asian Mart is a simulation which aims to help supermarkets understand the importance of efficiently managing limited resources and applying inventory management concepts to meet customer demand, maximise revenue and minimise food wastage. The game simulates a supermarket where the player is in charge of replenishing food. The game combines concepts from both the newsvendor model and the (Q,r) model, such as cost, lead time, and food prepared in batches. Furthermore, it features other unique constraints for the player such as limited staff and limited capacity. Players also gain some flexibility over fixed assets and difficulty of the game, such as being able to fix a different capacity level at the start of the game, as well as choosing a dynamic mode and normal mode. Within dynamic mode, the player has to consider long term costs of shortage in the form of customer retention.
