FTO Pte Ltd is a leading sports distributor and retailer in Singapore. We were tasked to analyse their most popular products: outdoor shoes, balls and shin guards for Hockey. Due to the characteristics of the business (seasonality, constantly changing line ups, rapid changes in taste and preference, niche market), the erratic demand patterns made trends and product life cycle hard to track. Therefore, with sales data from the past year, our project seeks to explore how we conducted statistical and demand analyses using QQ Plots and Bayesian Estimation to eventually derive improved inventory management policies using the Q-r model.
