Our HASS Freshmore core course, ‘02.003 Social Science: Understanding Behaviour, Culture and Society’, begins with the foundational debates of political economy. We read selections from Adam Smith’s The Wealth of Nations, including his famous discussion of the origin of the division of labour and its role in promoting national wealth.

As their final project for the course 02.126 Southeast Asia under Japan: Motives, Memoirs, and Media, students Han Xing Yi and Velusamy Sathia Kumar Ragul designed a voluminous online repository for primary and secondary sources related to studying the occupation of Southeast Asia by the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II.

ISTD Senior Caleb Lee’s Short Film “The Broken Circuit” is an Official Selection for the Essex DocFest
Graduating ISTD Senior Caleb Lee has been receiving some recognition for his short film, “The Broken Circuit”, a moving, personal account of how he experienced the ‘circuit breaker’ – Singapore’s nationwide lockdown of two months to contain the spread of Covid-19.
HASS’ students’ paper accepted for presentation at the Singapore Conference on Applied Psychology (SCAP) 2020 (postponed to 2021)
Four SUTD students who took Associate Professor Yow Wei Quin’s course 02.218 Introduction to Psychology in 2019 submitted a research paper to the Singapore Conference on Applied Psychology (SCAP) in 2020 (postponed to 2021 due to covid-19). Their paper has been accepted for presentation!
