Congratulations to Professor Tony Quek and Assistant Professor Soujanya Poria for their SUTD appointment as Cheng Tsang Man Chair Professor and Provost’s Chair Early Career Professor respectively with effect from 1 Apr 2024.

Professor Tony Quek, Cheng Tsang Man Chair Professor
Tony’s pioneering research in wireless communications has propelled SUTD to international prominence, contributing significantly to Singapore’s Smart Nation initiative and leading the national Future Communications R&D Programme. His work has earned him numerous prestigious awards, including the IEEE Fellow and multiple best paper awards, underscoring his influence in telecommunications research and 6G technologies.
Assistant Professor Soujanya Poria, Provost’s Chair Early Career Professor
Soujanya’s research in multimodal interaction and Natural Language Processing has gained international recognition, supported by industry collaborations and prestigious awards. His work is pivotal in advancing AI research at SUTD, contributing to fields such as affective computing and multimodal fusion, with applications in industry and academia.
