Biography
Kamal is an early-career hydro-climatologist, working as a postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Resilient Water Systems Group of the Singapore University of Technology and Design since April 2018. His current research focus is on the water-energy-climate nexus of greater Mekong sub-region.
Kamal completed his PhD in Civil Engineering (Climate and Water Resources Engineering) from the University of Newcastle, Australia in 2017 followed by a short summer research fellowship in Australian National University. Previously, he completed BSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh in 2010 followed by a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Geology from ITC, Netherlands in 2012. Since 2011, Kamal has been working as a university faculty, professional researcher and consultant engineer in different universities and industries with focus on hydro-climatology, statistical analysis, environmental engineering and disaster resilience.
