Giacomo is a PhD student at the Engineering Systems and Design department. He is a recipient of the President’s Graduate Fellowship at SUTD. He has previously worked at the Centre for Law and Economics at the ETH Zurich while completing a MSc in Statistics at the Department of Mathematics of ETH. He has further studied and researched, mostly in the fields of Computational Statistics and Economics, in Tsinghua University (China), MIT (US), LUISS University (Italy) and Utrecht University (The Netherlands).

In his current research he explores the nature of goods-vehicles traffic in urban areas, its economic role and its impact to society and the environment. He uses concepts from Game theory, Operations Research modelling and Statistics in order to analyse city logistics policies that could ease freight traffic without impacting its economy.
