Biography

Shaoying HUANG is the founder of BioMed-EM Lab since 2014. She is an associate professor in Singapore University of Technology and Design. She holds a Ph.D., MS, and BE degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She is pioneering the innovations and open-source efforts for portable MRI. She successfully organized the first MRI hackathon, ezyMRI NerdFest, in Asia. She is the co-chair of ISMRM (International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine) Singapore Chapter. She serves the ISMRM Annual Meeting Program Committee 2023 – 2025, IEEE AP/MTT Singapore Chapter since 2025, and the editorial boards of IEEE Transaction on AP and IEEE Journal of Electromagnetics, RF and Microwaves in Medicine and Biology. She owns 10 patents and contribute to more than 60 refereed journal papers and 160+ international conference presentations and invited talks. She is the co-founder of a deeptech company on portable MRI, ezyMRI. Her current research focuses are low-field portable MRI (hardware & AI), non-linear MRI image reconstructions, MR electrical property tomography (MREPT), human-involved wireless power transfer, radiofrequency (RF)/microwave noninvasive/contactless vital sign sensing.
