Biography

Dr Marie Siew is currently a Faculty Early Career Award Fellow in the ISTD pillar at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. Marie’s research broadly revolves around resource optimization for distributed intelligence in wireless and networked systems. Her research projects include incentive-aware optimization for edge computing, load balancing in edge computing, fair and efficient multiple model federated learning, and LLM agent communication optimization.

Marie was a postdoctoral researcher in the ECE department, Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Prof Carlee Joe-Wong, from 2021 to 2023. She received her PhD from SUTD in 2021, advised by Prof Tony Quek and Dr Desmond Cai. Prior to that, she obtained her BSc in Mathematical Sciences, from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2016. Marie is currently also exploring green computing and human in the loop learning.
