After completing his doctoral work, Dr Wood joined the faculty at the University of Texas in September 1989 and established a computational and experimental laboratory for research in engineering design and manufacturing, in addition to a teaching laboratory for prototyping, reverse engineering measurements, and testing. During the 1997-98 academic year, Dr Wood was a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the United States Air Force Academy where he worked with USAFA faculty to create design curricula and research within the Engineering Mechanics / Mechanical Engineering Department. Through 2011, Dr Wood was a Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Design & Manufacturing Division at The University of Texas at Austin. He was a National Science Foundation Young Investigator, the “Cullen Trust for Higher Education Endowed Professor in Engineering”, “University Distinguished Teaching Professor”, and the Director of the Manufacturing and Design Laboratory (MaDLab) and MORPH Laboratory.

Founder and CEO of MindTheSystem
Agnes is the Founder and CEO of MindTheSystem, an advisory and training outfit on complex systems challenges. Agnes had 20 years of career in the Singapore Administrative Service, serving in diverse portfolios ranging from defence, labour policy, community organisation and social welfare, public service innovation, transport and creative industry. Thanks to her work attachment at IDEO San Francisco in 2013, she is a policy-wonk-designer. Her niche and passion is in transforming organisations through design and supporting people through the change process, bringing to the table more than a decade of experience in public sector transformation and large-scale systems change. Agnes is skilled in design thinking, futures thinking and systems thinking.
Agnes graduated with a First Class BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford, Lincoln College in 2000. She went on to do a MA in International Relations in the University of Chicago in 2001. She has an Advanced Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Coaching, by the Centre for Coaching in the UK, accredited and recognised by the British Psychological Society and International Society for Coaching Psychology.
