Fundamentals in Backend Development

Overview

The course will provide an overview of Node.js, which is an open source server environment that allows the running of JavaScript on the server and cover the utilisation of Node.js in database applications such as MySQL. Participants will learn through hands-on practice and will also focus on real-world applications.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, participants should be able to / can expect to:

• Understand Node.js which allows the running of JavaScript on the server
• Understand how the Node.js can be used in database applications (MySQL)
• Understand how the Express Framework (which is a Node.js web application framework) provides a robust set of features to develop web and mobile applications, authentication and middlewares with express framework
