David Yau obtained the B.Sc. (first class honors) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, all in computer science. He is now Professor in the Information Systems Technology and Design pillar of the Singapore University of Technology and Design. Since 2010, he has been Distinguished Scientist at the Advanced Digital Sciences Center, Singapore, where he is Cybersecurity Program Director.

 

He is also Qiushi Chaired Professor in the Department of Control, Zhejiang University, China. From 1997 to 2013 (on leave 2010-12), he was Assistant Professor then Associate Professor of Computer Science at Purdue University (West Lafayette). In 2004, he was on sabbatical leave as Associate Professor, Computer Science and Engineering, CUHK..

Hadi Ghanbari

Assistant Professor, Aalto University School of Business

 

Hadi Ghanbari is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at Aalto University School of Business (Finland). Simultaneously, he is a research fellow of the FinEst Centre for Smart Cities (Estonia). Before joining Aalto University in 2019, he was a member of the Information Security Management research group at the University of Jyväskylä (Finland). He has been a project manager in several pan-European cybersecurity research and innovation projects. He had also served as a visiting researcher at the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Software (Ireland) and the Software Centre (Sweden). Before joining academia in 2010, he had worked in several positions in the IT industry.

 

Hadi mostly conducts empirical research on sociotechnical aspects of digital innovation, with a focus on information security, Technical Debt, and stakeholders’ competencies and behaviour. More recently, he has been studying the role of urban analytics in developing sustainable and resilient digital services. He is especially interested in studying the security and privacy concerns and consequences of such digital innovations for smart city stakeholders.
