Abstract
Morgan Stanley, as a global investment bank, has a rich history and culture of technology innovation, allowing the firm to stay on the cutting-edge and solve highly complex client and business challenges—and make an impact every day.
This session will give you an overview of how technology, especially cybersecurity, is being adapted at Morgan Stanley. Speakers will then deep dive into the topic of digital signatures – the origin, history, and more importantly its current application in the banking industry and latest developments. Speakers will also share important tips about security considerations for digital signature itself and some best practices for daily activities.

Fan Liu

Fan Liu holds the role of Asia CISO for Morgan Stanley. Before re-joining Morgan Stanley in January 2021, Fan had spent 5 years at the Singapore office in another global investment bank, as its Asia head covering multiple Cybersecurity domains including IAM, Vulnerability Management, Penetration testing, Cyber Exercise and Drills, and most recently, served as Global Head of Application Risk Assessment. Prior to that, Fan spent 8 years with Morgan Stanley at its Hong Kong and Shanghai office. He was the Asia Head of Security Architecture, led the Firm’s Technology and Operations Risk organization in Shanghai during its critical growth period, and later served as both the Head of Shanghai Enterprise Technology and Services and Asia Head of Enterprise Technology Risk. Fan has also held various technical positions in financial institutions, start-ups and consulting firms in Singapore and Toronto under capacity of security architect, penetration tester, and full stack developer.

Felix is a Vice President in the Cyber Data Risk & Resilience (CDRR) Team within the Technology at Morgan Stanley Singapore. As a Senior Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) team lead, Felix works with an unwavering commitment to cybersecurity excellence, with an extensive background and certifications in CISSP, GREM, and CEH. In his current role, Felix spearheads the management and resolution of security events and incidents, ensuring the protection and integrity of critical data and systems. Felix’s day-to-day responsibilities encompass a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity, including the meticulous analysis and response to sophisticated threats. With his capability in reverse engineering malware, Felix aims to help Morgan Stanley to identify and mitigate emerging threats.
