Tay Jun Jie (HDB) – Looking Beyond the Nuts and Bolts of AI
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is all the buzz these days but is it all that rosy when applying it? Although AI can bring many benefits, it also relies on many peripherals to be successful and effective. This seminar reflects on HDB’s journey on applying AI and what it takes to upkeep AI in the real world. Issues such as ethics, limitations of AI, attacks on AI will also be discussed.

Tay Jun Jie has been working on data science and AI in Housing and Development Board (HDB) for 7 years. He was involved in performing the analysis initially, and progressed to deploying data science and AI solutions, and the promotion and governance of data science and AI in HDB. He currently leads the Analytics Team in the Information Services Group, where his team of data scientists and data engineers works on data science and AI use cases and provides high quality data for exploitation by HDB and various agencies.
