What is architecture without experiencing and understanding life? Overseas field trips provide students real experience to feel, connect and conceptualise designs. In this panel discussion, Prof Erwin Viray, Asst. Prof Sam Joyce and Adjunct Assoc. Prof Rene Tan from RT+Q share the overseas learning opportunities present in the ASD curriculum. Prof Erwin Viray and Asst. Sam Joyce share why Japan and how students benefit from participating in joint workshops with KIT and SANAA, an established Japanese firm led by Pritzker Prize laureate Kazuyo Sejima. From Rome to Florence to Venice, Assoc. Prof Rene Tan, joined by his ex-students, share about the unique studio experience as they travel to learn about the works of great masters such as Palladio, Brunelleschi and Bernini & Borromini.
