Shamus is Managing Director and Chief Information Officer for Citi’s Global Consumer Banking business in Asia Pacific. With oversight of 17 countries, he is responsible for steering the strategic direction of Citi’s information technology products and services in support of business goals and objectives, and leading the bank’s initiatives in this area covering retail banking, credit cards and wealth management.
Shamus has a passion and history for delivering global business transformations that provide a vastly improved customer experience by leveraging innovative technologies and process improvements. He and his team are currently focused on delivering mobile and digital banking solutions for customers while increasing speed, agility, and efficiency through the adoption of the latest technologies and methods.
Shamus joined Citi in the United States in 2004. During his eight-year tenor in the US, Shamus spearheaded the technology mandate for the bank’s retail services division and took on a global technology role for collections, risk, and contact centers. He relocated to Singapore in 2012 to lead the technology platform convergence for the Consumer Banking business, a program which completed in 2016.
Prior to Citi, Shamus held various leadership roles at several General Electric businesses over a nine-year period including Chief Information Officer for Global Healthcare Services and Technology Lead for claims at General Electric Employers Reinsurance Corp. He was also the inaugural e-Business Process Quality (Six Sigma) Lead at GE Aircraft Engines.
Shamus holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame (USA) and a Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification from General Electric.
