Biography
Suhaila is a third-year doctoral candidate, trained in design-thinking and interdisciplinary research at Singapore University of Technology and Design.
Her interest lies in the study of digital disruption and its impact on the economy, society and most importantly, on the livelihood and wellbeing of people. Committed to a vision of a more inclusive future of work, her current PhD thesis is focused on studying lived experiences of emerging trends such as digital workplace transformation, digitally-enabled remote working arrangements and digital support platforms for women – towards supporting women in their work and employment endeavours in times of digital disruption.
During her free time, she is an active volunteer in the local community, youth empowerment/mentoring & encouraging female participation in technology scene. All in all, she strives to continue growing as an individual and making a positive difference to society and to the lives of others.

- BA (Honours) in Criminology and Security from the Singapore Institute of Technology in partnership with the University of Liverpool (Sep 2015 – Jun 2018)
- Degree Classification: 1st Class Honours
- Diploma in Psychology Studies from Temasek Polytechnic (Apr 2012 – May 2015)

- Research Assistant, Singapore Institute of Technology (Nov 2016 – Aug 2018)
- Involved in applied social projects investigating problematic social media usage and designing of a password hygiene training programme for youths.
