Tan Pek Yew, is currently a General Manager at Panasonic R&D Center Singapore, heading the Energy Solution Engineering group where he focuses on developing renewable energy systems and energy management solutions for B2B and B2G. His previous assignments include overseeing Research and Development directions of wireless mobile and audio-visual technologies for Panasonic Research and Development centers located in Asia Pacific regions as Project Director and Group Manager.

Beside his role in strategic R&D management, he has contributed to the development of communication standards in Standards Development organizations including Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, 3rd Generation Partnership Project and Internet Engineering Task Force. He is also the principal investigator of 2 government funded pilot projects on Digital Content delivery over Fixed-line High Speed and broadband wireless network.

Tan Pek Yew has authored/co-authored over 168 patent publications and received 41 granted patents. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1989 from University of Alabama, Master of Science in Communication and Computer Network from Nanyang Technological University in 1996 and Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Singapore Institute of Management in 2002.
