Biography

Hansong was a Singapore MOE scholar at ACS(I) and ACJC from 2000 to 2004. He then enrolled at the National University of Singapore (NUS) for his undergraduate studies in Mathematics in 2005. After achieving his BSc with first-class Honors in Mathematics in 2009, he pursued dual MSc degrees in Mathematics at NUS and Chemistry at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2011 and 2015, respectively.

In 2019, he successfully earned his PhD in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering from NUS. Following this, he led both the thin-film modeling team and the novel cell concepts simulation team at the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore. He held these positions from 2019 to 2021 and was engaged in various projects related to the development of new materials for thin film PV applications, as well as module technologies for future integrated PV applications.

In 2022, he became a part of Cambridge CARES, where his focus shifted towards the development of Digital Twin technology, aimed at reducing carbon footprints. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in the Cooling Singapore project, lending his expertise as an energy specialist to formulate solutions addressing the challenges posed by anthropogenic heat in Singapore.

Hansong’s research interests encompass solar photovoltaics, transport phenomena, applied machine learning, and knowledge graphs. Presently, he holds the position of Lecturer in the Science, Mathematics, and Technology Cluster at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).
