Biography

Before joining Science, Mathematics and Technology (SMT) cluster as a Lecturer, Yining Zhang was a Research Fellow in the Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD) pillar at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Prior to joining SUTD, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Colorado Boulder. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from Indiana University Bloomington in 2019, under the supervision of Ajay C. Ramadoss.

Education

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Mathematics, Indiana University Bloomington, 2019

Research Interest

Yining Zhang’s research interests in mathematics are homological algebra, homotopical algebra, and noncommutative geometry. Specifically, he is interested in various constructions and properties of Hochschild and cyclic homology, and connecting them to other areas, such as noncommutative geometry, (derived) algebraic geometry, and string topology. Also, Yining Zhang is interested in the applications of algebra to artificial intelligence (AI).
