THIS AWARD IS MADE POSSIBLE BY:
Chong Yee Temple

Originating in the 1920s within what’s now Jalan Kayu, the Chong Yee Temple (萬國山忠義廟) venerates Guan Gong, Xie Tian Da Di, featuring a central statue from Dong Shan, Fujian, China.

Since 1984, under new leadership, the temple annually celebrates Xie Tian Da Di’s birthday during the sixth lunar month, among other activities.

This ancient temple maintains its significance as a faith center where former kampong residents unite during festivities, safeguarding traditions and nurturing community ties. Our goal is to preserve its rich history, Taoist practices, and introduce the heroic tales of each deity to younger devotees.
