Programme Structure: Participants will take part in a 4-day in-class training; instructors will conduct a project consultation while participants break to work on project and finally class resumes for project presentation on Day 5.

Day 1

  • Communication frameworks and models
  • Cutting through the clutter of “all things digital”
  • Learning from digital influencers
  • Introduction to social media and digital tools
  • Understanding the digital conversation prism
  • Basic rules for communicating in the digital spaces
  • Tips for listening and engaging your audience
Day 2
  • The why and power of stories
  • Elements of storytelling and digital storytelling
  • Leveraging storytelling for impact and influence
  • Tell stories that capture your audience’s attention
  • Connecting at a human level
  • Different digital storytelling approaches and techniques
  • From mass communication to building relationships with your audience
  • Best practices and examples of storytelling
Day 3
  • The “bird by bird” approach
  • Touching hearts and minds through powerful content
  • Communicating and writing for the mobile device
  • Lessons from corporate and world leaders
  • Digital communication for the modern workplace
  • The 3 E’s of teamwork and collaboration
Day 4
  • The DNA of branding and standing out
  • Aligning your personal brand to your organisational brand
  • Brand building blocks – content, network, social proof
  • Owning your voice
  • The design of your digital communication strategy
  • Understanding digital impact value and metrics
  • Data analysis for continuous improvement
  • Taking your digital communication plan forward
Day 5
  • Project Presentation
Assessment

Participants to take part in in-class quiz and final project to evaluate course understanding and augment learning outcomes.

Subject Credits

Upon completion and satisfying the requirements of passing this course, learners will be awarded 12 subject credits.
