Subject and Instructor Evaluation

SUTD places high importance in maintaining the quality of its courses and ensuring that students have a positive learning experience.

In order for constant enhancement in teaching effectiveness and learning to take place, student participation in course evaluations is a valuable source of feedback and information. Our course evaluations are set up in eDimension.

The course and instructor evaluation is administered during mid-term and end-term of each trimester. End-term surveys are conducted for all courses, i.e. courses offered to students in Terms 2 to 10 and ILP. Mid-term surveys are only conducted for:

  • New faculty teaching for the first time in SUTD
  • Faculty teaching the subject for the first time
  • Faculty members who are teaching half-term subjects (Week 1 – 6)
  • Faculty members who are teaching in the first half of the term (Week 1 – 6)

There are two parts to the course evaluation form:

  • General feedback on subject
  • Individual instructor evaluation

The subject leads are the main point of contact during the setup to provide the list of instructors to be evaluated and to confirm the survey questions.

Students will be notified to participate in surveys via email, as well as in eDimension.

Please refer to the Student and Instructor Evaluation Policy (SUTD faculty/staff login required) for further information.
