Adopt a Tree, Nurture a Scholar

In 2018, the SUTD Campus-in-Bloom campaign was established to support educational and environmental sustainability efforts by the University. As green stewardship has always been integral to the University's soul, with sustainability being taught at undergraduate levels and researched at higher levels, even by faculty members, Campus-in-Bloom was an initiative to involve donors in our green efforts while supporting our students.

Donors who supported SUTD with a gift of education were invited to plant and adopt a tree, and in total, 55 trees on campus were carefully chosen for adoption. This movement not only commemorated the first nation-wide tree-planting campaign in 1963 by the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, but also cemented SUTD’s and our donors' commitment to nurturing future leaders and shaping Singapore's future very visibly on our campus. Every tree that still stands today is a great reminder of this commitment, and from the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank every single donor who has journeyed with us through this campaign.
