I am delighted to share with you the remarkable progress and achievements in healthcare research that have unfolded within our institution. Over the years, our dedicated researchers and scholars at the Singapore University of Technology and Design have been at the forefront of healthcare studies, contributing significantly to the advancement of biomedical knowledge and technology.

Our researchers have engaged in diverse healthcare research projects, ranging from innovative medical technologies and treatments to cutting-edge studies in epidemiology and public health. Their commitment to excellence has not only elevated our university's standing in the academic and research communities but has also had a profound impact on the healthcare landscape in Singapore and beyond.

Today, I am excited to announce a new chapter in our commitment to healthcare education and research. With great pride, I introduce the opening of our new research centre – CHEERS (Centre for Healthcare Education, Entrepreneurship and Research @ SUTD). This centre is designed to consolidate all the efforts on healthcare within SUTD, as well as to be a hub of excellence, fostering collaboration, innovation, and the exchange of ideas among researchers, educators, and students dedicated to advancing healthcare knowledge.

CHEERS will serve as a dynamic space where experts from various fields come together to address the complex challenges facing the healthcare industry. Through this initiative, we aim to not only strengthen our position as a leader in healthcare research but also to nurture the next generation of healthcare professionals and leaders.

I extend my sincere gratitude to the entire university community for their unwavering support, dedication, and passion for advancing knowledge and making a positive impact on society. Together, let us embark on this exciting journey towards a healthier and more sustainable future.
