  • Median gross monthly salary increased in 2022 to $4,800

Despite a slowing economy, around nine in 10 fresh graduates from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) in the labour force were employed within six months of completing their final examinations. 300 out of SUTD’s eighth batch of 388 fresh graduates participated in the latest Graduate Employment Survey.

87.6% of SUTD graduates in the labour force secured full-time permanent employment, with more than half (54.9%) of them receiving two or more job offers. More than one third (34.5%) of those who secured full-time permanent employment received return job offers arising from their internships, which is a graduation requirement for SUTD students.

The median gross monthly salary of SUTD’s fresh graduates in full-time permanent employment has increased to $4,800 in 2022, compared to $4,500 in 2021, while the mean gross monthly salary also increased to $5,102 in 2022, compared to $4,730 in 2021. Over 55% of our graduates secured full-time permanent employment in the Information & Communication, Financial & Insurance and Scientific Research & Development industries.

Employment Status of Graduates Who Participated in the Follow-up Survey
57 out of 81 SUTD Class of 2019 graduates from the Architecture and Sustainable Design (ASD) degree programme participated in the 2022 follow-up survey. Majority of these students had taken up SUTD’s Master of Architecture programme and participated in the survey upon completion of their practical training. Of those in the labour force, over 90% were employed.

Professor Chong Tow Chong, SUTD's President, said: "Despite the slowing economy, SUTD’s Graduate Employment Survey results showed that our fresh graduates are still well sought-after by employers; around nine in 10 of our Class of 2022 graduates secured employment and over 50% of those in full-time permanent employment received two or more job offers. I am pleased to note that almost 40% of this cohort comprises STEM-educated women – a 5%-point increase over the previous year. SUTD will continue nurturing young leaders and innovators with its interdisciplinary design education to serve societal needs and build a better world by design."
