Mr Lee has about three decades of senior public sector experience in various roles. Prior to his current appointment, Mr Lee was CEO of the Central Provident Fund Board (CPFB). A strong believer in digitalisation and fostering an innovative culture, he led CPFB to win the public sector Transformative Agency of the Year Award. While he was the Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Manpower, he championed reforms in employment laws, manpower policies and social security policies of CPF, Workfare and Silver Support. As Director of the Industry Division at the Ministry of Trade & Industry (MTI), he led his team in conceptualising and then successfully launching the two Integrated Resorts in Singapore and the world’s first Formula One Grand Prix night race. A Sloan Fellow of the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Mr Lee currently serves as Deputy Chairman of GovTech and a member of National Healthcare Group (NHG) Board, and Board of Trustees of the National Technological University (NTU) and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). He is also the immediate past Chairman of the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS), one of the largest charities in Singapore, and was formerly the Chairman of the Tripartite Alliance for Dispute Management, an Exco member on the Board of Singapore LNG Corporation, and a Council member of the MediShield Life Council.

Mr Lee graduated with M.Sc in Management from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University, and with a B.Eng (First Class) from the National University of Singapore.
