S R Nathan Fellow, Professor Chan Heng Chee to Deliver IPS-Nathan Lectures

The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) announced on 5 June 2020, the commencement of the 7th IPS-Nathan Lecture series.

Titled World in Transition: Singapore’s Future, the lecture series will be delivered by S R Nathan Fellow for the Study of Singapore, Professor Chan Heng Chee, Ambassador-at-Large with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chair of the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities at Singapore University of Technology and Design. Professor Chan also chairs the Board of Trustees at the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute of Southeast Asian Studies.

The lectures which are free and open to all, will be livestreamed online in view of the COVID-19 situation. Details will be published on the IPS website in due course:

  • Lecture I — Disruption. Democracy Falters. Capitalism Flounders. World Order Unravels.
    18 June 2020, 6PM

  • Lecture II — The US-China Rivalry: Inevitable War or Avoidable War?
    1 July 2020, 6PM

  • Lecture III — Singapore in a Time of Flux: Optimism from the Jaws of Gloom
    15 July 2020, 6PM

All three lectures will be livestreamed via Facebook. Details will be published on the IPS website.

Professor Chan was appointed the 7th S R Nathan Fellow (Academic Year 2019/20). As the S R Nathan Fellow, Professor Chan pursues research related to public policy and governance in Singapore.
