SUTD President Professor Thomas Magnanti said: “We are extremely proud to celebrate the first graduation of SUTD’s students. In this Dual Masters programme, with a year of coursework at MIT and a year of research at SUTD, students receive a truly dual and international experience with the opportunity to immediately apply their newly acquired knowledge to solve real world problems.”
According to Masters student Karthikeyan, who is now working at Google as an enterprise cloud platform sales engineer: “The experience was stimulating and enriching as the first Masters at MIT allowed me to learn about systems architecture, data analytics, technology incubation, innovation management and product design, all in one year! While I researched the application of data science to online communities for my second Masters at SUTD. This combination of strong theory gained at MIT and directed research performed at SUTD has equipped me with the right skills to tackle the data analysis challenges of the future.”
The SUTD Commencement and Freshmen Inauguration Ceremony, held at its Dover campus today, was attended by Mr Phillip Ng, Chairman of the SUTD Board of Trustees, Directors from MIT and the Zhejiang University, including guest speaker, CEO of Keppel Corporation, Mr Choo Chiau Beng.
