Since 2023, students enrolled in Singapore universities have been allowed to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to complete their assignments, but they cannot flout rules on things like academic honesty and plagiarism.

SUTD presents an integration of its energy-saving rApp with VMware's Non-RT RIC and the VIAVI TeraVM RIC Test. Employing state-of-the-art AI technologies, the rApp optimizes cell control, achieving significant energy savings without compromising service quality in realistic scenarios.

The Sustainable Air Hub Blueprint has incorporated and built upon the recommendations by the International Advisory Panel (IAP) on Sustainable Air Hub. The IAP, formed in February 2022, was chaired by Professor Chong Tow Chong, SUTD President.

Students from SUTD's undergraduate degree programmes will be recognised as being design-trained, regardless of their major, when they graduate this year.

‘The real game-changer has been the iterative dialogues with AI – you need to learn how to talk, interact and transfer information,’ says Associate Professor Carlos Bañon, about advances in AI-image generation.

Zheng Kai, an Architecture and Sustainable Design lecturer at SUTD, highlighted that as a community that is still traditional, it may be difficult to accept the presence of Western dragons in Chinese New Year decorations, but perceptions are dynamic and will evolve over time.

SUTD’s director of admissions, Mr Jonathan Kua, says all shortlisted students need to attend a 30-minute one-on-one interview that he refers to as a conversation. It is an opportunity for the university officials to figure out if the student is the right fit for the university; similarly an opportunity for the student to understand what SUTD can offer and if it suits him or her.

According to MOE, over the last few years, one in three fresh polytechnic graduates matriculated into autonomous universities — namely NUS, NTU, SMU, SUSS, SIT and SUTD.
