ModularMaster Programme

MyModularMaster programme is a unique micro-credential initiative that refers to the suite of short, modular professional development courses that participants may choose to take up individual modules separately, or stack up to a Graduate Certificate, or choose to take up the ModularMaster (MM) Certificate as a full programme. The ModularMaster programme is not a master’s degree programme.

Graduate Certificate

A Graduate Certificate is a short-term programme; designed to help participants acquire deep skills in a specialisation.

Participants will earn subject credits and upon fulfilling the requirements of the programme, attain a Graduate Certificate in the chosen field of study.

To further deepen the expertise and knowledge, participants can also choose to do two or more Graduate Certificates in the same domain and acquire the ModularMaster Certificate in that domain.

ModularMaster Certificate

A ModularMaster Certificate is an academic credential awarded by the Singapore University of Technology and Design. An MM certificate programme is designed with working professionals in mind, helping these participants acquire knowledge and skills essential for their workplace.

Participants can take skills-based modular courses to aggregate subject credits of each module and upon meeting the requirements of minimum subject credits and other criteria such as design projects and assessments, an MM certificate/credential will be awarded. The subject credits for the ModularMaster programmes are not equivalent to those in SUTD’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

For participants who prefer to follow a designated pathway, we have designed the Graduate Certificate programme as a pathway leading towards a ModularMaster Certificate.

This programme is a pathway towards Master of Science in Security by Design.

Standard Pathway
The ModularMaster in Data Science programme features two tracks; programming track for those who prefer a programming route to data science while the non-programming track is designed for learners who prefer to work on data science projects with tools.

Learners can choose 6 modules from either the programming or non-programming track and complete it within 2 years to be eligible for the ModularMaster Certificate in Data Science.

The S.M.A.R.T. Entrepreneurship programme was developed in collaboration between Teochew Entrepreneur Club and SUTD Academy. The first of its kind, this is the first time an Autonomous University is working with a Clan Association to support local SMEs and the wider business community in Singapore in their entrepreneurial pursuits.

This programme consists of a suite of short, modular, skills-based courses which is designed to help leaders master the mindset towards understanding and managing technology and hone their business management expertise.

Sustainability

Sustainability is changing the nature of business, with investors, regulators, consumers, and employees pushing for corporations to address global issues such as climate change, social injustice, and digital governance. The role of the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) has emerged as the sustainability function professionalises. However, the CSO’s role is often not clearly defined. CSOs are seeking new, transdisciplinary skillsets as they catalyse sustainability outcomes across different business functions.

The ModularMaster Certficate in Sustainability will help CSOs develop the requisite competencies to confidently drive sustainable change in a complex, fragmented, technical, and rapidly evolving sustainability landscape.
